Casco Bay Regional Shellfish Working Group

VIEWSHED worked with Tidal Bay Consulting and the Greater Portland Council of Governments to develop a public-facing data platform that integrates multiple environmental datasets related to intertidal conditions and nearshore water quality. The project began with stakeholder engagement, including surveys, meetings, and direct outreach to shellfish harvesters, municipal officials, and other users. These insights informed the design of dashboards, story maps, and data tools that translate complex environmental data into accessible information. 

Since its launch in 2022, the data portal has continued to evolve, with ongoing updates, new datasets, and refinements based on user feedback. The focus throughout has been on making data meaningful and usable for decision-making and daily use.
