Capital Judicial Center
Augusta, Maine
As part of a major addition to an existing courthouse, this plan successfully integrates the building architecture onto a steeply sloping site, and addresses concerns for both accessibility and security. Granite walls and benches serve a dual purpose need for seating and security barriers. The linear plaza was designed to complement the design style and tone of the LEED™ certified courthouse addition. This project received a 2015 Citation Award – AIA Maine Committee On The Environment (COTE) Award.
