Village Vision Plan
Bangor, Maine
A conceptual land use plan was developed for the Route 1 Main Street Corridor and adjacent West Side Village in Bangor, Maine. The vision plan aims to revitalize the neighborhood as a safe, livable community and attract investment to the emerging entertainment venues along Main Street and the Waterfront.
The focus of this plan is on stabilizing residential neighborhoods with streetscape improvements, re-connecting the community to its open space amenities, and complete street planning. Concepts for short-term and long-term improvements were illustrated with form-based build-out scenarios. The City of Bangor has adopted many of the recommendations and completed a series of streetscape improvements along Route One.
